Moses’ Mountain Top Experience

Moses’ Mountain Top Experience

We’ve all been taught that Moses went up mountain Sinai and spent 40 days and 40 nights. Well, I about to reveal to you what has been revealed to me and when this was taught to me by Holy Spirit Himself I was so excited and so ashamed at the same time and I’ll tell you why. Let’s get started.

Lets start at the beginning in Exodus 19: 1-3 KJV

Exo 19:1  In the third month, when the children of Israel were gone forth out of the land of Egypt, the same day came they into the wilderness of Sinai.

Exo 19:2  For they were departed from Rephidim, and were come to the desert of Sinai, and had pitched in the wilderness; and there Israel camped before the mount.

Exo 19:3  And Moses went up unto God, and the LORD called unto him out of the mountain, saying, Thus shalt thou say to the house of Jacob, and tell the children of Israel;

1  IN THE third month after the Israelites left the land of Egypt, the same day, they came into the Wilderness of Sinai.2  When they had departed from Rephidim and had come to the Wilderness of Sinai, they encamped there before the mountain.3  And Moses went up to God, and the Lord called to him out of the mountain, Say this to the house of Jacob and tell the Israelites:

In this chapter we see Moses going up the mountain for the very first time to get instruction from God. We also see the children of Israel encountering God up close and personal. They encounter God in such a way that it scares the life out of them and they no longer want Him (God to speak to them face to face ever again. They tell Moses you talk to Him and tell us what He says. So Moses comes down the mountain and consecrates the people and get them ready for the Lord to come down the mountain. Now the Lord came down the mountain and the people stood at the foot while Moses went met and spoke with the Lord on the side of the mountain. Now in Exodus 19:20 The Lord goes back to the top of the mountain and calls for Moses to come up to where He is. In this time God told Moses what to tell the Israelites. This is not the 40 days.

Now we come to Exodus 24:1

In the Word of God, capital letters always show importance, for example, spirit and Spirit. The capital “S” tells us that we are referring to the HOLY SPIRIT  ex: “the Spirit of the Lord is upon me” while the lower case “s” tells us we are talking about lesser spirit such as “my spirit longs for you”. This is also the same with words such as “He & he, His & his” This lets us know when we are talking about God or the Lord. The word God SHOULD ALWAYS BE CAPITALIZED WHEN IN REFERENCE TO GOD ALMIGHTY!!!! ALWAYS!

Exo 24:1  Then he said to Moses, “COME UP TO THE LORD, you and Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel, and worship from afar.

Now I believe this was an angel of the Lord giving Moses instruction because it does not say the Lord said and it says “he” which tells me that it was a lesser person.

So after getting instructions Moses goes and builds an alter and sacrifices before the Lord and makes a blood covenant with the people according to what the Lord had said.    Now the elders and priest were aloud to come with Moses but only to a certain level. When God has you hid on on the back side of the mountain as He had done Moses (teaching, training, instructing & coming into intimacy with God) there are certain people He will allow to come with you but only so far. Then He will do this….

Exodus 24:2

Exo 24:2  Moses alone shall come near to the LORD, but the others shall not come near, and the people shall not come up with him.”

2  Moses alone shall come near the Lord; the others shall not come near, and neither shall the people come up with him

So Moses was Called up higher alone.  Now Moses went up on the mountain and now in Exodus 24:18 you see it says he stayed 40 days and 40 nights.

Exo 24:18  Moses entered the cloud and went up on the mountain. And Moses was on the mountain forty days and forty nights.

.18  Moses entered into the midst of the cloud and went up the mountain, and Moses was on the mountain forty days and nights.

Now God gave more instructions to Moses and during this 40 days and nights He gave Moses directions on the building of the sanctuary for God and a host of other things. He even told Moses exactly who He gave the gift to create all these things.

Now we move to Exodus 32:1

Exo 32:1  When the people saw that Moses delayed to come down from the mountain, the people gathered themselves together to Aaron and said to him, “Up, make us gods who shall go before us. As for this Moses, the man who brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we do not know what has become of him.”

Now look at that They have lost their minds while Moses is up on the mountain trying to get things straight for them. Lets keep going…

Exodus 32:7 Exo 32:7  And the LORD said to Moses, “Go down, for your people, whom you brought up out of the land of Egypt, have corrupted themselves.

So we see the FIRST 40 days and nights have ended and Moses comes down the mountain to get the people straight. Mind you he has lost his temper and destroyed the first tablets of stone in which God had written on Himself.

In Exodus 32:31 we see Moses going up to plead for the people

Exo 32:31  And Moses returned unto the LORD, and said, Oh, this people have sinned a great sin, and have made them gods of gold.

Now in Exodus 33:1-23 we see Moses the Tent of Meeting and his intimate encounter with God, causing the Glory of God to shine upon his face.

In Exodus 34:1-28 The Lord tells Moses to chisel out 2 stone tablets just like the first ones he destroyed and be ready in the morning to present yourself to me on top of the mountain.  No one is allowed go with Moses or even be anyplace on the mountain.

Moses went up and did as the Lord told him and The Lord passed by Moses proclaiming His name and goodness before Moses and Moses worshiped the Lord. Then The Lord made a covenant with Moses and gave Moses details of the covenant.

Now look at what Exodus 34:28 says….

Exo 4:28  And he was there with the LORD forty days and forty nights; he did neither eat bread, nor drink water. And he wrote upon the tables the words of the covenant, the ten commandments.

So we see Moses spent more than just 40 days and 40 nights on Mount Sinai with the Lord. Look at Moses speaking about it himself in Deuteronomy 10:10

Deu 10:10  And I stayed in the mount, according to the first time, forty days and forty nights; and the LORD hearkened unto me at that time also, and the LORD would not destroy thee.

AMP Version

)10  And I [Moses] stayed on the mountain, as the first time, forty days and nights, and the Lord listened to me at that time also; the Lord would not destroy you.

So we know Moses stayed on the mountain a total of 80 days and 80 nights and at the end of that time he came off the mountain soaked with the Glory of God shining so bright the people had to place a veil over his face. Exodus 34:29-35

Exo 34:29  And it came to pass, when Moses came down from mount Sinai with the two tables of testimony in Moses’ hand, when he came down from the mount, that Moses wist not that the skin of his face shone while he talked with him.

Exo 34:30  And when Aaron and all the children of Israel saw Moses, behold, the skin of his face shone; and they were afraid to come nigh him.

Exo 34:31  And Moses called unto them; and Aaron and all the rulers of the congregation returned unto him: and Moses talked with them.

Exo 34:32  And afterward all the children of Israel came nigh: and he gave them in commandment all that the LORD had spoken with him in mount Sinai.

Exo 34:33  And till Moses had done speaking with them, he put a vail on his face.

Exo 34:34  But when Moses went in before the LORD to speak with him, he took the vail off, until he came out. And he came out, and spake unto the children of Israel that which he was commanded.

Exo 34:35  And the children of Israel saw the face of Moses, that the skin of Moses’ face shone: and Moses put the vail upon his face again, until he went in to speak with him.

I was so excited and ashamed when this was revealed to because we don’t take the time that’s needed to get in the full presence of God we don’t prepare ourselves for Gods presences either. God forbid we be alone! We think we should have a crowd follow us every step of the way. I started studding this because I am been hidden on the back side of the mountain and I wanted to see Moses and the entire experience. There was many more things revealed to me but I was only able to share this with you. This place can often seem so lonely at times but just know God is there Stay put till you get THE GLORY. NO MATTER HOW LONG IT TAKES STAT WHERE GOD HAS CALLED YOU AND BE OBEDIENT. GOD IS ABLE!!!! i HOPE THIS HAS BLESSED YOU AS IT HAS ME.

Proverb of The Day………Pro 30:8 - 9 Pro 30:8 Remove far from me vanity and lies: give me neither poverty nor riches; feed me with food convenient for me: (9) Lest I be full, and deny thee, and say, Who is the LORD? or lest I be poor, and steal, and take the name of my God in vain. Holy Bible (King James Version) Book: Proverbs

Giving up in the Wilderness

So many have come out of Egypt (the world) just to get in the wilderness (a place of transfiguration or change) and give up. There is more than one wilderness season for every one who will seek to enter into the deep things of God. For every spiritual level & season THERE WILL BE A WILDERNESS SEASON in which you will be proved/tried/tested.  We don’t understand the season or the process and because we’ve never been in this place we give up before we reach the promise land. Your promise land is that thing God has promised, showed, or spoken to you about. The promise land is different for each person. It’s your future…..your destiny, what you were called to do and be before the foundation of the world.

Just like the children of Israel God has given us the promise to set us free from the hands of Pharaoh. “Pharaoh” is anything that holds you captive or in bondage, anything that keeps you from being free to worship and live for God the way God intended you to. As we look at the children of Israel we will look deeper at things in a spiritual light. We will look at their spiritual mind sets in the hopes of giving us a better look at ourselves and our own behavior while we’re in our own wilderness season.

In Exodus 3:7 – 9 the first thing we see is God speaking to Moses about the children of Israel. He hears their cries and sees their afflictions. He sends Moses with a promise that He will not alter or void. God is a God of his word. The promise is still the same. He promises to set the captives free from their oppressors and lead them to a land flowing with milk and honey.  God through Jesus promises to give us life and that life more abundantly.

Exo 3:7-9 And the LORD said, I have surely seen the affliction of my people which are in Egypt, and have heard their cry by reason of their taskmasters; for I know their sorrows; 8  And I am come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up out of that land unto a good land and a large, unto a land flowing with milk and honey; unto the place of the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites. 9  Now therefore, behold, the cry of the children of Israel is come unto me: and I have also seen the oppression wherewith the Egyptians oppress them.

In Exodus 6: 2-4 God revealed to Moses His relationship with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, He also told Moses how He revealed Himself as “God Almighty” to them. They spoke to their children and taught them about their God, God Almighty. They did not know God as “Jehovah” “Lord” now God was doing a new thing with this generation. They would have to get to know God as “Jehovah”  “Lord”. Just like their fathers, they would have to go into a land where they are strangers.  In my own life I have experienced this. I can remember asking God why I kept falling in a certain place. God revealed to me it was a matter of ME NOT TRUSTING IN HIM! I asked Him how could this be and he revealed to me that IT WAS BECAUSE I DIDN’T KNOW HIM IN THAT AREA. See we learn to trust God in certain areas and in other areas we’re used to going commando instead of us learning who God is in this area and How He works in situations like this. We have to give God a chance to reveal Himself in every situation.

Exo 6:2 - 4 And God spake unto Moses, and said unto him, I am the LORD: 3  And I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, by the name of God Almighty, but by my name JEHOVAH was I not known to them. 4  And I have also established my covenant with them, to give them the land of Canaan, the land of their pilgrimage, wherein they were strangers.

God continued to reveal to Moses the fact that He has heard the groaning and suffering of the children of Israel.  I love this part… When God heard their groaning He REMEMBERED HIS COVANANT He had made with Abraham. With a commission form God, Now, Moses has the charge of revealing God to the children of Israel as “THE LORD GOD.” He also has to tell them that the time/season has come and God is going to bring them out of the bondage of Pharaoh. In this same way we come into seasons where God wants to bring us out of the bondage of the Pharaoh’s in our lives. He wants to change us & set us free. God wanted to bring them unto Himself. He desired to be in relationship with them & to make good on the covenant/promise He gave Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

Exo 6:5-7  And I have also heard the groaning of the children of Israel, whom the Egyptians keep in bondage; and I have remembered my covenant. 6  Wherefore say unto the children of Israel, I am the LORD, and I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, and I will rid you out of their bondage, and I will redeem you with a stretched out arm, and with great judgments: 7  And I will take you to me for a people, and I will be to you a God: and ye shall know that I am the LORD your God, which bringeth you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians.

Now when Moses went and spoke to the children of Israel as God had instructed him in Exodus 6: 2-8 the very next passage (Exodus 6:9 ) tells us about the mindset of the children of Israel at this period of time and even what caused them to act this way.

Exd. 6:9 And Moses spake so unto the children of Israel: but they hearkened not unto Moses for anguish of spirit, and for cruel bondage

Now the word of God says that they refuse to listen to Moses because they were anguished in spirit and because of the cruel bondage they were experiencing from the hands of their oppressor Pharaoh. Not only were they in physical bondage but they were also in mental and spiritual bondage also. The word anguish means - Extreme distress of body or mind (or) Suffer great pains or distress (or) Cause emotional anguish or make miserable. So they were suffering great pains & were miserable in their mind, body and spirit, which had an effect on their emotions and behavior. Many times we are in this very same state of mind because we have allowed the enemy to bring us into bondage. The quickest way for the enemy to set up strongholds in our lives is through emotional, mental and physical hurts and hardships. When things happen to us we tend to shut down and shut the doors so as to never allow that thing to happen again. We also unknowingly shut God out. We shut out any thought of Him moving in this area. When this happens, God can’t lead us or take us out of the hands of our Pharaoh because of our state of mind.

Now through many trials and tribulation the children of Israel were brought through the red sea and into the wilderness. They came out with a song on their lips and praise in their heart. They were so happy to be free they couldn’t even imagine that they’d be headed for drastic change. Now they were entering into a place that was unfamiliar to them. Now they were entering into the wilderness.  I can remember entering into a wilderness season that was so unfamiliar to me I would cry and pray a simple prayer basically saying “God, this is all so new for me, I don’t know what to do or how to function here. Teach me how to function in this place.” Even the worship in that place was different. He had to teach me every step of the way & He did.

As soon as the children of Israel entered into the wilderness there was hardship.  They had traveled three days and had not found any water and the water that they dad find was bitter and unfit to drink. So the first thing they did was complained and murmured against the man of God Moses. See it wasn’t what they were expecting. We often expect God to move in a certain way. We are all for it as long as it doesn’t cause us any discomfort. The minute it does we want out of the process & are complaining ready to quit.

Exo 15:22  So Moses brought Israel from the Red sea, and they went out into the wilderness of Shur; and they went three days in the wilderness, and found no water.

Exo 15:24  And the people murmured against Moses, saying, What shall we drink?

Moses went to God with the complaints of the people and look at what God told Moses in Exodus 15: 25….

Exo 15:25  And he cried unto the LORD; and the LORD shewed him a tree, which when he had cast into the waters, the waters were made sweet: there he made for them a statute and an ordinance, and there he PROVED them,

To be proved is to be tried or be established beyond doubt.  So God made for them a statute/law, authoritative rule and He began to try/prove and establish them beyond doubt.  When God brings you out of bondage He has to prove you. He has to bring you to a place where you will be reformed in your mind body and spirit.

Let’s take a drug addict for instance. They have been held in bondage to their drug of choice for years. During those years they’ve developed habits, strongholds, and mindsets. They‘ve also developed a personality that’s able to adapt to the environment they’re in. Now you take the drugs out of that person’s life and take that very same person and take them away from everything that’s familiar to them. You have to also take any and all vices away and tell them they must now learn how to live in this new environment they have been placed in.  You provide everything they will NEED and give them rules and boundaries. Now while they are in this environment you test and try them on different levels and different areas so that you will know what are their strengths & weaknesses and what needs to be done away with and what needs to be brought forward. Some addicts are completely transformed and changed while others give up and go back to the bondage that will take their very lives. God was trying to reform/change the children of Israel. He was trying to establish them. He was trying to bring them up to the level they were truly supposed to be on. The problem with them was that they could not see what God was doing. They were damaged from their experiences in Egypt. They were also so carnal minded that they were unable to be spiritually minded. This prohibited the plans of God in their lives. There is no doubt that God is well able to accomplish anything He sets out to do. However we all have free wills and our free will more than often gets in Gods way. This is what causes the will and plans of God to be aborted in our lives.

All during the children of Israel’s journey through the wilderness you find them complaining, and rising up against God and the man of God (which is the same as rising up at God Himself). In Exo 32:1 we see then GIVING UP just because they didn’t know where Moses was at. We do the very same thing when we don’t see, fell, or hear God.  Even though He is always there we give up and began to turn to other gods. God wants us to be still and trust Him in this wilderness process.

Exo 32:1  And when the people saw that Moses delayed to come down from the mount, the people gathered themselves together unto Aaron, and said unto him, Up, make us gods, which shall go before us; for as for this Moses, the man that brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we know not what is become of him.

Another perfect example is in Numbers 14: 1-4 When we find ourselves looking at opposition that stands in between us and our destinies. It often looks as if it’s impossible and we just can’t see our way through it and all we want to do just what the children of Israel wanted to do….. GIVE UP AND TURN BACK & GO RIGHT BACK TO PHARAOH  & EGYPT WITH ALL IT’S BOUNDAGE & HARD YOKES…. GOD FORBID YOU’VE COME TO FAR TO TURN BACK NOW!!!

Num 14:1- 4 And all the congregation lifted up their voice, and cried; and the people wept that night.(2.)  And all the children of Israel murmured against Moses and against Aaron: and the whole congregation said unto them, Would that we had died in the land of Egypt! or would that we had died in this wilderness! (3.)  And wherefore doth Jehovah bring us unto this land, to fall by the sword? Our wives and our little ones will be a prey: were it not better for us to return into Egypt? (4.)  And they said one to another, Let us make a captain, and let us return into Egypt.

When we are in a wilderness season we will go through hardships and we MUST LEARN FROM THE CHILDREN OF ISRAELS MISTAKES…. WE MUST RELY COMPLETELY ON GOD!!! In order for us to go to the next level and season of our destinies we have to allow God to PROVE us beyond doubt, so that we will be established. The goal is to allow God to PURGE us and make us into a vessel fit for His use and if we (our flesh) die while in the wilderness PRAISE GOD!!! NOW CHRIST CAN LIVE IN & THROUGH US!!! SO MANY LIVES ARE CONNECTED TO OUR LIVES/ ALL GOD NEEDS IS A WILLING VESSLE!!! LET US ALL SAY…..”LET IT BE ME O’ LORD, LET IT BE ME!!!!

Next we will look at the other side of the wilderness…… CONSECRATION & RELATIONSHIP OF MOSES & GOD

Proverb of The Day:

1 Does not wisdom call? Does not understanding raise her voice? 2 On the heights beside the way, at the crossroads she takes her stand; 3 beside the gates in front of the town, at the entrance of the portals she cries aloud: 4 “To you, O men, I call, and my cry is to the children of man. 5 O simple ones, learn prudence; O fools, learn sense. 6 Hear, for I will speak noble things, and from my lips will come what is right, 7 for my mouth will utter truth; wickedness is an abomination to my lips. 8 All the words of my mouth are righteous; there is nothing twisted or crooked in them. 9 They are all straight to him who understands, and right to those who find knowledge. 10 Take my instruction instead of silver, and knowledge rather than choice gold, 11 for wisdom is better than jewels, and all that you may desire cannot compare with her. 12 “I, wisdom, dwell with prudence, and I find knowledge and discretion. 13 The fear of the LORD is hatred of evil. Pride and arrogance and the way of evil and perverted speech I hate. 14 I have counsel and sound wisdom; I have insight; I have strength. 15 By me kings reign, and rulers decree what is just; 16 by me princes rule, and nobles, all who govern justly. 17 I love those who love me, and those who seek me diligently find me. 18 Riches and honor are with me, enduring wealth and righteousness. 19 My fruit is better than gold, even fine gold, and my yield than choice silver. 20 I walk in the way of righteousness, in the paths of justice, 21 granting an inheritance to those who love me, and filling their treasuries. 22 “The LORD possessed me at the beginning of his work, the first of his acts of old. 23 Ages ago I was set up, at the first, before the beginning of the earth. 24 When there were no depths I was brought forth, when there were no springs abounding with water. 25 Before the mountains had been shaped, before the hills, I was brought forth, 26 before he had made the earth with its fields, or the first of the dust of the world. 27 When he established the heavens, I was there; when he drew a circle on the face of the deep, 28 when he made firm the skies above, when he established the fountains of the deep, 29 when he assigned to the sea its limit, so that the waters might not transgress his command, when he marked out the foundations of the earth, 30 then I was beside him, like a master workman, and I was daily his delight, rejoicing before him always,31 rejoicing in his inhabited world and delighting in the children of man. 32 “And now, O sons, listen to me: blessed are those who keep my ways. 33 Hear instruction and be wise, and do not neglect it. 34 Blessed is the one who listens to me, watching daily at my gates, waiting beside my doors. 35 For whoever finds me finds life and obtains favor from the LORD, 36 but he who fails to find me injures himself; all who hate me love death.”

Proverbs 8: 1-36 Bible (English Standard Version)

Mighty Ambassadors Of the Kingdom

Most Christians operate in a defensive state when dealing with the kingdom of darkness. Always “the devil is busy” okay what are you doing? Are you busy slapping him in the spirit realm? FORGET THAT!!! From this day forward WE (the body of Christ) operate on the Offense! We throw the first blow!! We make them say “those Christians are busy!” We make every demon in hell terrified to even attempt to attack us because he knows what he will get! IT’S WHAT EVER DEVIL!!!! WE ARE THE MIGHTY ARMY OF THE TRUE AND LIVING GOD!! I have been so encouraged! God has been showing me the significance of living a life that is not only sold out to Him but a life that is an open book, a living epistle to be seen and read of all men!

Being an Ambassador of the Kingdom means you stand, walk, and live in the authority of the King that sent you to represent Him. You bring the Kingdoms principles into this land and enforce them throughout the land. Ambassadors of the Kingdom are also granted territories inside other kingdoms to which they have total control. They also set up an embassy. My God! This thing is getting good!!! The embassy’s establishment inside a country is PERMENANT! The Ambassador over that embassy has special privileges such as Diplomatic immunity!!!

Diplomatic immunity is a form of legal immunity and a policy held between governments that ensures that diplomats are given safe passage and are considered not susceptible to lawsuit or prosecution under the host country’s laws. Now look at that! In this kingdom, the WORLD, we have Diplomatic immunity! The devil can’t do anything to us. However, the fact remains he is illegally mishandling Ambassadors all throughout this world. Think about it.. What if every ambassador of the Kingdom set up an KINGDOM EMBASSY with JESUS’S banner and seal in their territory. We as the children and ambassadors of Christ would be a FORCE to be reckoned with. In every territory we will enforce the laws and principles of God. We have Diplomatic immunity power, dominion, and authority! This IS who you are!!!! It is your job as a Kingdom Ambassador to RE-PRESENT (represent) Christ to a lost and dying world. To change the distorted view the world has about Father God, Jesus and even Holy Spirit.

In Conclusion: be encouraged in your walk with Christ! You are needed and wanted! Let God use you. Don’t settle for less than what God’s promised in His word. Remember, many lives await you and your testimony!! GOD CAN and WILL IF YOU ONLY BELIEVE!!! - Gaynell

Made Perfect In Weakness

I wrote ithis a wile back and it was such a blessing to me I thought I’d share it with you. So through the grace of God I’ve moved on up from this place. May 2011

I have been going around this mountain..the SAME mountain for a good while now I asked God to show me what was I doing wrong and teach me how to handle the situation. Now this is what He lead me to.. 2Co 12:9 & He said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

MY GOD!!!!!!REVELATION!!!!The problem is my UNWILLINGNESS TO BE OR BE PERCEIVED AS WEAK!! It shows me that more of me needs to die! I need to be dead to myself and be willing to GLORY IN MY INFIRMITIES and WEAKNESSES so that the power of Christ can even the more rest upon me. I’m a warrior by nature so I find myself fighting battles that should be won in silence or fought by God.

IN CONCLUSION: 2Co 12:9 And he said unto me My grace is sufficient for thee for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Gods grace IS SUFFICIENT for you let His strength be made perfect through your weaknesses Then His power will shine through & others will see true strength & glorify God. MADE PERFECT IN WEAKNESS- Gaynell
